Mooneye Madness; Record Falls Twice!
Shawn Clark, Project Engineer at Lakeside Metal Specialties, a two-time record holder.
The Mooneye is not a large fish species – it rarely tops a couple of pounds- and it isn’t often caught by anglers. Our very own Shawn Clark, Project Engineer at Lakeside Metal Specialties, just recorded two record Mooneye catches! On July 23 when Shawn Clark of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, pulled a 10-ouncer from the Current River in Arkansas. His fish was almost 13 inches long with a 7-inch girth. Clark returned to the Current Aug. 27 and pushed the mark to 11 ounces with his second mooneye state record. Clark’s first record weighed 10.8 ounces; the second was 11.6 ounces. Congratulations Shawn!
